Waterlogged: Artists’ View of Our Flooded City

Check out this exciting interdisciplinary event on Tuesday, August the 28th from 6-7:30pm. New Orleans artists will present their work through the screening of three short films which focus on severe flooding events the city has suffered in the 21st century. The featured artists’ are three women on a mission in New Orleans. These women include Chasity Hunter, who challenged the New Orleans drainage system at just 19 years old, Kira Akerman, who educates youth in water literacy and is currently in-residence with Ripple Effect, and, Jana Napoli, who founded YA/YA, and international arts enrichment organization. The artists will participate in a Q&A after the film showings. Admission is free! The event is hosted by The Helis Foundation.
