Outdoor Adventures and Learning at
New Harmony

We had an excellent 1st week of Outdoor Adventures! OA members have been getting outside exploring the wild space New Orleans has to offer with the SEEK app by Inaturalist and nature journaling. Members have made commitment pledges in one of the 3 categories of either naturalist, activist, or recreationist, making individual commitments to themselves and the environment to help create a more sustainable Louisiana!

Hurricane Laura Mutual Aid Fund

South West Louisiana Still Needs Your Help!

Hurricane Laura was a catastrophic category 4 storm, the largest that Louisiana has seen since 1856, that has significantly impacted and changed the lives of South West Louisiana citizens forever.

If you’d like to help out, please donate or share, or learn more about the fundraiser please click here. All proceeds go directly to supporting people from SW Louisiana who are most impacted by the storm, prioritizing Black, Indigenous, and People of Color.

Imagine Water Works accountability measures have been listed on the fundraiser since they launched it. Their team is led by multi-generational native Louisianans who evacuated for/after Katrina; their accountability comes not just from these posted commitments but also from our community, families, neighbors, and friends who we live and share these experiences with.

Parent Actions and Need to Knows…

Join the Special Education Advisory Committee!

NHH is starting a Special Education Advisory Committee!  This committee will provide advice and feedback regarding special education policies, procedures, and resources. It will also engage in outreach activities with the community at large to increase the level of knowledge, support, and collaboration with respect to special education.

If your child has an Individual Education Program (IEP) and you are interested in joining the Special Education Advisory Committee at New Harmony, please complete this interest form.  We will meet at least 3 times this year, either virtually or in person, and submit an annual report to Sunny (school leader) in May.

Parent Office Hours: New Times

At the request of our parents, optional office hours for parent questions/concerns are now offered at two different times: Tuesday at 9-9:45 a.m. and Wednesday 3-3:45 p.m. We will alternate weeks for morning or afternoon sessions. Check out the calendar for a direct link to Zoom. If you can’t make either of those times work, please let Sunny know ( and we can schedule something else.
