A Message from our School Leader about Quarter 3

Happy Friday!

Cheers to the beginning of our spring semester and quarter 3. It has been a very long fall and a long 10 months of not being together, of existing during a global pandemic, of shaking our heads and shaking our fists at continued racial injustice, of trying to find hope for our country when the division is so great. As we move into a 3-day-weekend, let’s remember Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. whose life and work we celebrate and remember always, but mark on Monday, January 18th. Dr. King’s work and words continue to inspire us to keep going when times are tough and help us remember that we are moving forward even when increments may be small.

Thank you all for your patience and flexibility as we determined we must open in a virtual-only capacity for the coming weeks. In the formal parent communication, we noted the excessively high data that is causing us to remain virtual. We will make a decision on or before January 25th if we are able to open our doors in person on February 1st. Parents, I know that this has been a very long and taxing situation, and I hope that you understand our sincere hope is to return in person as soon as we safely can. We see you and the efforts you’re putting in. We know you’ve been working so hard to support from home, and we are so grateful. Students, we miss you and we love you and we can’t wait to see you.

But in the meantime, students, make sure you are attending all of your online classes, putting in your best effort in projects and classwork, and attempting to connect with somebody on the other side of the screen, whether it is another student or one of our incredible staff members. Now is the time that we need each other the most, when the stretch ahead is uncertain yet we know solutions are around the corner.

Be safe and stay healthy.
