Smart Greenhouses

New smart greenhouses have been developed so that sunlight can pass through the roof, but the roof is also used by an innovative solar panel to create electricity. This is optimized for photosynthesis, so growing plants in these greenhouses requires less water than traditional farms. Additionally these panels can be produced more inexpensively than conventional solar panels. Traditional greenhouses and other industrial farming techniques are huge contributors of greenhouse gas emissions, so this is one innovative step to decarbonizing the food system.
