Alex Kolker is a board member at New Harmony.
What is your field of work?
I am a coastal geologist. I study the landscapes that exist across coastal Louisiana, how they change, and how people can impact these coastal environments in ways that can contribute to coastal restoration.
Why are you passionate about New Harmony?
New Harmony offers a great opportunity for students to learn about our coastal landscapes and the many beautiful, fascinating and wonderful environments that exist throughout our state.
Who was your most influential teacher during high school and why?
My most influential teacher was Bill George, my high school biology teacher. He was so knowledgeable, he cared about the students, and he could be pretty funny too.
