Argument for Environmental Education

A recent op-ed article on NOLA.com called for an increased focus on teaching students about the environment with an emphasis on how climate change will affect Southern Louisiana. This is especially important since these issues will challenge our children throughout their lives. They should be equipped with the knowledge and tools to work to find solutions.

We couldn’t have said it better ourselves! New Harmony is committed to student exploration on how communities can respond to and thrive in harmony with evolving ecosystems, specifically by studying coastal erosion.

For example, a couple months ago New Harmony ran a pilot with students to explore and measure the effects of climate change.
