Meet Amanda Murray
March 26th, 2018What is your education and career background?
I graduated with a degree in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from Yale University. Since college, I have worked in a charter school teaching math, science, and special education as well as worked with outdoor education programs.
Why are you passionate about New Harmony?
I am passionate about New Harmony because it is tackling two of the most essential topics currently facing Southern Louisiana: education and coastal restoration. Additionally, New harmony is placing students at the center of their own learning and I am excited to watch how our students flourish when given the opportunity to help design their education.
Who was your most influential teacher during high school and why?
In high school, my most influential teacher was my math teacher because she encouraged me to take what I had learned outside of the classroom and to find creative and unique methods for solving problems.
