Happy Teacher Appreciation Week!

It’s time to celebrate National Teacher Appreciation Week! Since we can’t celebrate together, we’ve asked our families to share their favorite memories and qualities of our teaching staff. Our hearts are overjoyed at the responses we’ve received.

“The teachers at New Harmony are one of the most important reasons I’m here. The connection between students and staff are really strong at NHH because we have such a huge level of trust with them, and they help us achieve so much. Anthony went to my Lead the Coast meetings with me, and Rueben has helped me through hard times. Amanda always makes sure my advisory is getting along, especially when we are disagreeing about something. Sunny has been there for everyone always, even if we make a big mistake. The teachers at NHH are some of the kindest people I’ve met and I am so thankful to have met them all. They truly deserve all the thanks in the world because they are there for us when we are at our most vulnerable time in life.”
-Izzy, Founding New Harmony student

“People say don’t take advantage of good things, but since school is to help me prepare for the future, I’m taking advantage.   They’re helping shape the way I wanna live my future. Without my school I wouldn’t be able to do that. So I love you guys.  Thanks for all the help you’re giving me.

When someone asks who’s my hero I will say my NHH. If you don’t know what that means, let me help. NEW HARMONY HIGH – the world’s best school, the school who helped me through a lot.”
– Jojo, Founding New Harmony student

“The attention and care I witnessed NHH teachers take to make sure exhibitions were meaningful for students is unparalleled. Thank you, NHH teachers, for all you do to keep kids learning and growing every day!”
– Liz Suarez, New Harmony Board Member

“Despite the pandemic, my son and his friends have been in close touch with New Harmony teachers, who designed special projects tailored to their abilities for the final quarter. That individual attention from NHH staff means the world to my son, and to me. Thanks for all you do.”
-Katy, New Harmony Mom

“Dear teachers, you are sculptors of human potential and often the first source of inspiration for young minds. Thank you for all that you do – we love and appreciate you!”
-Adrinda Kelly, New Harmony Board Member

We love you New Harmony High teachers! Thank you for all that you do for our community.

Students of the Week:
9th & 10th Grade

Phoenix, Class of 2023

Phoenix  is our 9th grader of the week!

From her advisor, Jaron “Phoenix is one of the most no-nonsense, straightforward students I know. She immediately acclimated to distance learning and figured out a system that works for her. We are so lucky to have Phoenix in the Flaming Sombreros advisory!”

We miss you! Keep killing it!

Asia, Class of 2022

Our sophomore student of the week is Asia!

Asia has truly embraced self-guided learning this week. She has been dutifully following the weekly planner we created together, following up with teachers, and reaching out when she needs help. We can’t wait to read her finished project on the effects of COVID-19 as she has spent the week interviewing members of her community.
